Description
The robust STIHL BT 131 earth auger is used by professionals in the horticultural, agricultural and construction sectors for the fast, efficient drilling of burrows for fences, plantations or point foundations. Thanks to its powerful STIHL 4-MIX® engine, the machine can dig rapidly into the soil. STIHL has equipped the BT 131 with the STIHL QuickStop drill brake to protect the operator. As soon as the drill jams in the earth, the release lever activates the STIHL QuickStop drill brake, bringing the drill to a standstill within a fraction of a second. The start-up sequence has been simplified, making it more user-friendly. The large support cushion, included as standard, lies closely against the body during the drilling process. This allows the machine to be operated smoothly and precisely. The stable, low-vibration frame grip allows for especially effortless work. The 0.7l fuel tank allows the machine to run for long periods. STIHL offers a range of high-quality drilling tools suitable for a wide variety applications in the form of accessories for the STIHL BT 131.
HIP PADDING
During use the hip pad is positioned comfortably close to the body or leg of the operator, making the auger safe and easy to use.

FOR FANTASTIC ENGINE POWER WITH LOW MAINTENANCE. The STIHL 4-MIX® engine is a four-stroke engine that does not require any oil circuit components, thanks to refuelling with an oil and gasoline mix. That’s why it’s more compact, more lightweight, and requires less maintenance than conventional four-stroke engines, while at the same time being powerful and offering a comfortable sound pattern. STIHL 4-MIX® engines comply with the European Stage V emissions directive.
LONG AIR FILTER SERVICE LIFE
ENSURES LONG CHANGEOVER INTERVALS. Thanks to its long service life, you rarely need to change the easily accessible filter. This saves resources and reduces maintenance effort.
QUICKSTOP DRILL BRAKE
The Quickstop drill brake release lever stops the drill immediately when it gets stuck in the ground, It also serves as a reverse rotation lock – a stuck bit can then be easily unscrewed manually.
STIHL ANTI-VIBRATION SYSTEM
FOR MORE PLEASANT WORK. Vibrations can occur when you put your tools through their paces, and these are particularly noticeable in the grip area. The buffer and spring elements of the STIHL anti-vibration system reduce the transmission of engine vibrations to the handle area and therefore to your body. The result is that your tool is more comfortable to hold and your work is much less tiring.
SINGLE-HANDED MULTI-FUNCTION HANDLE
COMFORTABLE OPERATION. Thanks to the single-handed multi-function handle, you can control your tool easily and reliably with one hand. Because all relevant control elements are integrated in the handle, it can be operated by both right-handed and left-handed users.
