The STIHL tiller MH 585 is a versatile multi-purpose machine ideal for medium-sized plots of land and larger garden patches. The engine is powerful enough to turn over firm ground efficiently. This tiller is perfect for creating new gardens and flower beds as well as preparing seed beds for vegetable crops. In order to tend crops positioned more closely together with greater efficiency and care, you can divide the hoe set on the MH 585. This reduces the working width to 60 cm. Equipment features such as the integrated anti-vibration system, central handlebar adjustment feature for adapting the machine to your body height and reverse gear make working much easier. The equipment allows the tiller to effortlessly manoeuvre, change direction or navigate around obstacles. The low centre of gravity also contributes to effortless handling of the machine. The machine features folding wheels and an adjustable handlebar that allow effortless and space-saving storage of the tiller.
SWIVELLING BRAKE SPUR
FACILITATES DIGGING OVER IN NARROW SPACES. The pivoting braking spur slows down the propulsion speed and increases the manoeuvrability of your power tiller. This makes it easier to dig ground over in tight spaces and curves. In addition, this slowing enables you to work more intensively with the hoe set. The captive brake spur is also easy to access and conveniently height-adjustable.
SIMPLE THROTTLE ACTUATION
PRECISE CONTROL OF ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Regulate the performance of your power tool during operation without releasing the handle. The throttle actuator is attached to the handle; this means you can operate it conveniently with your thumb, and precisely control the speed of the engine.
BLADES
FOR VERY EFFICIENT DIGGING OVER. The shredder blades of the STIHL power tiller have a specially developed shape. This allows them to dig soil over very efficiently in an optimised process sequence.
CLEANING POSITION
EASY ACCESS TO THE SHREDDER BLADES. Easily and conveniently clean, assemble or disassemble the shredder blades in the cleaning position.
DIVIDABLE HOE SET
EXTEND THE WORKING WIDTH. The detachable hoe set allows you to extend the working width of your power tiller with additional hoeing tools. The distance between the hoe blades is fixed. Discs at the side also protect your cultivated plants and objects from damage while ploughing.
POWERFUL OHV ENGINE
EFFICIENT AND DURABLE. Advanced technology makes this powerful OHV motor very powerful. The overhead valves ensure that the petrol/air mixture burns very cleanly and efficiently. This type of engine is very powerful and durable.
TRANSPORT WHEELS
FACILITATE TRANSPORT AND MORE. If you want to easily move your power tiller to the place of work or storage location, you can simply fold down the transport wheels. You can also tilt the power tool onto its wheels for mounting and cleaning the hoe blades. The pair of wheels can be folded up for convenience when you are digging the ground over.
ADJUSTABLE HANDLEBAR
FOR HIGH WORKING COMFORT. The ergonomically shaped bar of your power tiller can be adjusted both vertically and laterally, without tools. This means that you can dig over soils with an ergonomic posture even on hard-to-access surfaces. To transport your power tiller easily or store it in a space-saving manner, simply fold down the bar.
STIHL ANTI-VIBRATION SYSTEM
FOR MORE PLEASANT WORK. Vibrations can occur when you put your tools through their paces, and these are particularly noticeable in the grip area. The buffer and spring elements of the STIHL anti-vibration system reduce the transmission of engine vibrations to the handle area and therefore to your body. The result is that your tool is more comfortable to hold and your work is much less tiring.
