Description
The RMA 448 V from STIHL is a battery-powered self-propelled lawn mower designed for users looking to cut medium-sized to large lawns at home. Part of a new range of 4 Series battery-powered lawn mowers, it’s a lightweight and quiet mower that is fitted with innovative key features that make this the ideal choice for gardeners at home.
This lawn mower is built with a rugged polymer deck that is lightweight, rust proof and double layered for additional stability. It’s UV resistant, has a 46 cm / 18″ cutting width and single point height adjustment that is adjustable between 20 – 100 mm. The RMA 448 V is part of the AK System range of tools and is powered by an AK 30 S battery that is interchangeable with other machines across the range. There are two slots in the powerhead for two AK batteries, so when the first runs out of power you can quickly switch to the second. On a full charge with the recommended AK 30 S battery you will be able to mow lawns up to 340 m2.
The RMA 448 V has 4 different ways of mowing. No additional tools are required but we do recommend you refer to the owner’s manual before working. You can either:
- Cut & collect with the grass catcher box fitted
- Cut & drop by removing the grass catcher box
- Side discharge with the flap that is integrated into the deck
- Mulch by switching it to mulch mode
The comfort mono-handlebar allows easy access to the grass catcher box, making it easier to remove and empty when it’s full – plus, thanks to the fill level indicator on the grass catcher box you’ll know exactly when to empty the box too! The 52-litre grass catcher box is ergonomically designed and easy to fully open for fast emptying. The sturdy mono-handlebar is height adjustable and foldable for compact storage after use. The mono-handlebar has a 10-year domestic warranty too.

HEIGHT-ADJUSTABLE COMFORT HANDLEBAR
COMFORTABLE WORKING AND STORAGE. The comfort handlebar is only mounted on one side of the lawn mower, making it easier for you to remove the grass collection box. As the handlebar is height-adjustable, it enables you to mow your lawn comfortably and ergonomically. You can adjust it to your preferred height without using tools. As the handlebar is also foldable, the lawn mower can be compactly stored and transported.
POLYMER HOUSING
HIGH-RESISTANCE AND LIGHTWEIGHT. The highly resilient and robust polymer housing is petrol-resistant and protects the engine block against UV radiation. The high-quality plastic is also exceptionally light.
ECO MODE
ENERGY-EFFICIENT WORKING. With Eco mode activated, the speed of your lawn mower engine automatically adapts to the output you actually need. This means that your cordless lawn mower uses less energy and can handle a larger area before it needs to be charged again.
CENTRAL CUT-HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT FOR LAWN MOWERS
FOR OPTIMUM MOWER RESULTS. You can adjust the cutting height on your lawn mower easily and in several levels. A scale shows the current height. Central cut-height adjustment allows you to optimally adapt your mowing to the conditions of the lawn.

IMPROVE CONTROL. With robust and durable smooth-running wheels, you can keep track of your lawn mowing easily and effortlessly. Thanks to their traction and directional stability, these smooth-running wheels can be effortlessly manoeuvred to support careful and comfortable lawn maintenance.
FOLDING GRASS COLLECTION BOX
EASY EMPTYING. Your lawn mower is equipped with a folding grass collection box to make emptying clippings very straightforward. The fill-level indicator signals the right time for emptying. An airstream ensures dense filling while mowing, so you can make optimum use of the full volume of the box. The slats on the side of the box direct the air towards the ground, which protects you from dirt being swirled up.
VARIO SELF-DRIVE
The Vario self-propulsion enables individual adaptation of the speed of the STIHL lawn mower to personal mowing habits and lawn conditions. The mowing speed can be infinitely varied using the control lever on the handlebar.
